Time to Abolish and reconstruct!

That is the Declaration of Independence, the very document signed by our forefathers which this country was founded.

Now, look at the list of atrocities that the then King of England was accused of and why the colonists felt it necessary to separate themselves from him. Some of you might not read all of it so I will give you some excerpts:

Its that time again. Time for good sense and reason to go out the door in favor of political games.

To date there have been over 2500 US Military Personel deaths since the start of this "war." (Note: quotetations are used here because this is not a war but rather a forceful military occupation that was initiated on false intel and no follow up.)

 

You would think that with less than 1/3 of the United States population in favor of the war and the president that started it on his own crazy backwater agenda, that the House would be inclined to listen to the people and get our troops home. This is not the case. I will not go into too much detail, since everyone can read the article linked above and form their own opinion but I will show some excerpts.

How true. Some people say "The absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence." This is also true, but with US troops being stations there for almost 3 years and scouring most of the country, thats quite a bit of evidence of absence to me, enough to really step back and say "Hmm, maybe we dropped the ball on this one Dick, let's get our people home and just call this one a mulligan."

 

I don't like debating politics because its a losing battle no matter what side you are on. But in cases like this I think people really should think about 2 things. 1) What is good for the country? 2) Should we ever have gone there in the first place?

 

I want everyone to think about the events way back in the day, in 2003. All of a sudden the search for Osama bin Laden stopped being the news and Operation Shock and Awe was EVERYWHERE. It was worse than the Schiavo case. We were told that intel reports showed Saddam Hussein has Weapons of Mass Destruction, mobile chemical weapons labs, and a nuclear program that threatened the entire war.

 

"Holy Shit!!" We thought, we really need to take this guy down. 18 months later we are told, "Wait, our bad. No WMD, no chemical weapons, no nukes, sorry our intel was bad." Then we are told, "Actually we knew those reports were bad but meh..."

 

That brings us to the present, 2500 dead, no one taking responsibility, they dont want to bring our people home, and they are taking no steps into having the new Iraqi govt. take control of the country on their own. Remember they dont have to pay for anything as long as we are still there. They even want US troops to run their prisons.

 

Midterm elections are coming up. I know I will be working to have the Dems take control. At least they will bring people home and hopefully stop this load of shit.

 

The republicans say that by pulling from Iraq we will promote the spread of terrorism around the world and into the United States. Let me say one thing about this.

 

WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU THINKING?! Terrorism is not some plague or some hard drug, it is a fucking idea. It is the use of fear to obtain political goals! Terrorism has been around the world since the dawn of time and is extremely well rooted in the US already. Who remembers SARS? That lung infection with a 9% fatality rate (and that was only if you already have immune system issues) that everyone was freaking out about that wasnt an issue? Or that fact that US media uses nothing but scare tactics to make their stories...

 

Or what about Oklahoma City, that was terrorism. The series of high school shootings, that was terrorism, any robbery, thats terrorism. Anything that is done to incite fear to achieve a goal is terrorism. Buy a fucking dictionary.

 

What the fuck is wrong with people?!

Another freedom bites the dust.
I just read this little gem of the republicans:

Now, I am not a person that endorses terrorism. In fact I hate it in all its forms, whether it be Osama bin Laden, Saddam Hussein, Martha Stewart, or any of the fine producers of American media. But there comes a time when people really need to take a step back and realize just how stupid some of it is at times.

I am wholly against the Patriot Act, and for several reasons. First, it was never really thought out too well, it was thrown together at the last minute in the wake of September 11th, the whole world was scared shitless and they needed to get something out there. Second, its not needed and hasnt helped at fucking all. Can you please show me an example where the wiretaps allowed in the Patriot Act have stopped another September 11th style attack from happening? I dont think you can, feel free to prove me wrong. And if you do find an example, ask yourself this question "Was it stopped because of the Patriot Act or because they actually followed up on intel reports?"

Think hard about that question, I bet your answer will be the latter rather than the former.

What the fuck is coming up next, a lifetime term for Dubya? The land of the free and the home of the brave behind their suits and titles.

The Christian Right Strikes Back
Roe v Wade was a landmark case for women's health rights. It made abortions legal for health reasons. Well South Dakota seems to be completely anti-health. Their most recent bill that is more than likely going to be passed will outlaw all abortions except for when absolutely necessary to save a woman's life. It will make no exceptions for rape or incest and will lead to jail time for any doctor that performs the procedure.

I am pro-choice, if a woman feels that she is not ready/unfit to be a mother then she should have the right to terminate the pregnancy. Sure go ahead and say "but it's killing babies, there are options like adoption". And yes to most people those are options, but what about the girl who's psycho drunk dad will probably beat her to death if he finds out she's pregnant, or the same girl who's psycho drunk dad got her pregnant in the first place. So not only does she have to go through the horror of being raped by her dad, she now has to go through the pain of childbirth and then give up the baby, or worse yet, have to keep the baby and have a constant reminder of the torture. If you like this scenario then you are one sick individual.

I'm not saying make it so that 15 year olds can go out get freaky naughty and not have to worry about consequences but damnit, given the proper circumstances I dont see a problem in letting a woman control her own damn life. Hell a guy can just leave and never have to worry about the baby again, but the woman is stuck. And if the Christian Right has their way, every woman will be stuck no matter what.

Way to go Jesus.

There are many things in the world that just piss me off. And now I have found something brand new. Horrid uses of great songs for commercials.

There have been many examples of this but the 2 most horrid are as follows:
Papa Johns Pizza - Anal raping a wonderful Go-go's song to fill its own insatiable hunger for suck. Thats right Papa Johns you got the meat, right in your ass.

Kraft Cheese - Yes, it is "crumbelievable" that someone actually thought this was a good idea. Not saying that EMF were a group of musical geniuses but damnit, they deserve a little dignity. How many hit records have you made huh?!

Pizza Hut - Yes I know this is 3 but you know what they say, "There are 10 people in the world that understand binary, those that do and those that don't." There are a few things that bother me about their most recent product idea, first of the crust-poppers-cheese-filled-what-the-fuck-ever are absolutely disgusting. Stuffed Crust is bad enough but at least I have the option of not eating the crust, with these loathsome pieces of swill you have no choice, either either eat them, pick them off one at a time and throw them to the pigs. In the case of the latter you then have to eat the pizza with no crust to hold it by. This normally wouldnt a problem with Pizza Hut wasnt the greasiest fucking pizza chain in the world.

 But thats just the pizza, the commercial is even worse. Not only does it look like a 10 year old making a crappy Valentine's collage made it, they took a great song and just hacked it all to hell. The wonderful Nancy Sinatra's song about not taking shit from people was a wonderful song. Yes, I can say this, I am a heterosexual male but damnit I can have a guilty pleasure. The wonderful people at Pizza Hut advertising has decided to take that song, change all the words, mess with the beat, have someone with a horrid singing voice( I think it was Ashlee Simpson ) sing it.

I just really dont understand why people have to do this. I am all for doing remixes of songs, I am all for doing covers of songs. Hell, I even like Weird Al, but come on people, we cannot let this stand. I demand a Boycott on all products that in their advertising use horrible covers of songs.

Thats all I have for now, more stuff that pisses me off to follow.
